A historic residence just steps from Rialto
Set among the quiet, charming calli of Cannaregio, Palazzo De Polo creates a refined dialogue between Venice’s past and present.
A careful restoration has brought to life a building that preserves its original architectural features while reinterpreting them in a contemporary key: original frescoes, Venetian terrazzo floors, and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams tell its history, while clean lines, contemporary comfort, and elegant minimalism interpret its present.
To dream with your eyes turned upward
The walls of Palazzo De Polo are silent witnesses to centuries of Venetian history, adorned with original frescoes of rare beauty, the result of an outstanding conservation restoration carried out in respect of the Venetian pictorial tradition. Allegorical figures, Arcadian landscapes, and motifs in still-vivid colors animate ceilings and walls, transforming every room into a work of art to be admired.
When arrival becomes part of the experience
Stepping into Palazzo De Polo, the eye is welcomed by an elegant space in pale stone, enhanced by a dark wooden coffered ceiling. Adding to the scenographic impact is a water feature set against the entrance wall, symbolically evoking the Venetian shores and the city’s deep connection with water. Moving further inside, a large salon opens up, preserving the spirit of Venetian tradition: tailored drapes adorn the elegant ivory walls, while flooring in shades of red enters into dialogue with the light of the renowned Fortuny® chandeliers.
The pleasure of inhabiting art
The salons of Palazzo De Polo are the heart of this historic residence in Cannaregio, where frescoes adorning the walls and ceilings tell the story of Venice. On the first floor, an entirely frescoed room welcomes guests for breakfast each morning. Featuring Venetian terrazzo floors and Fortuny® chandeliers, it is furnished with velvet curl armchairs and sofas, creating a relaxing atmosphere that invites guests to slow down. Moving up to the second floor, another frescoed salon reveals walls entirely painted with perspective views of extraordinary beauty. A space designed for those who wish to take the time simply to be: reading, conversing, or allowing themselves to be enveloped by the timeless atmosphere of Venice.
